I am Back!

Hellooooo... Look who is back! Finally I found some time to motivate myself to write again. It's been quite a long time since I posted something. Summer has gone and past but don't wake me up when September ends (tribute to Greenday's song "Wake me up when September ends". ) because the weather is suprisingly great so I am enjoying September very much.

BUT what did I do all this time? How did my summer go? Let me give you some updates. I had a wonderful summer with my family and friends. It was crazy hot in Istanbul and also on the island it was nearly impossible to lie down under the sun. Although it was unbearable, I had nothing to complain about, summer should be like that, shouldn't it? It was also a very relaxing summer, I had finally found some time to reflect on the winter and also to make plans for upcoming winter (actually I started to do one of those plans, but that's next time's subject.). Being with friends, sleeping very late, waking up very late (sometimes early but I didn't even feel exhaustion.) and of course swimming in the beautiful Marmara Sea... I can keep on going, but I don't wanna bother you so much. As I had a amazing summer, it took me some time to adjust to my regular programme. Going to school, cooking, cleaning, being in the Netherlands. As I mentioned before September is so far so good but of course I am not talking about the evenings. This is the Netherlands, heh! It is always cold in the evenings. Cold evenings equals to movie nights with blanckets and homemade popcorn. (as it is in the picture.)

On one of those cold evenings we decided to watch "Back to the Future". It is my husband's childhood movie series and it was very important for him that I liked it too. He warned me beforehand so that I wouldn't become very critical about every little detail. He said "it is a 1985 movie, don't expect incredible visual effects." ,"even if Robert Zemeckis (who directed many of my favorite films like "Forrest Gump", "Cast Away" and very successful Christmas movies "The Polar Express" and "A Christmas Carol") is the director and Steven Spielberg (who is my childhood hero with his amazing imagination and his sensitive and touching film language) is the main producer, don't expect a very complicated movie, it is science-fiction at the end" and so on.

So we started watching the first movie. Of course we saw a very young Michael J. Fox there. I learned later that he was already very popular with a tv series called "Family Ties" so he was a sweetheart and he boosted his popularity with this movie series more. I should admit he has the star vibe. The movie has all the characteristic features of a Hollywood movie. There is a bad guy, a good guy, and a beautiful girl. This triangle comes back in the second movie too. An important feature of the movie is that every little detail is important because it all comes back and not only within the movie but in the entire serie. Though this doesn't bother your mind. Family and friendships are two important subjects.

Although after watching many time-travel movies one might think this would be relatively a peace of cake but if you think it was 1985, it is a big deal to write a script like this.

I will not go in too deep and analyze the movies seperately, as their scripts are not very much different from each other but I should say,  the first movie is my favourite as you meet the characters, you learn the whole story and how time traveling effects other things too. I like the third one too because first of all it was kind of a western and there is also a new story about the doctor so it was like a new movie but the second one is my least favourite. In the second movie everything goes wrong, they just spend their time to make it right. There is no fun, no jokes and no warmth. It feels like you are watching the gangster version of the original movie.

The picture you see above tells a lot. You see Michael J Fox with the guitar for the first movie. That scene was remarkable and it refers to a real time event too. In the second one you see Fox with a hoverboard which is a flying skateboard.  This is important not just for the second movie but also for the third movie. So keep in mind. In the third one, you understand from the font type and little Fox picture that it is western. Lastly the car is all you need to travel in time and of course some fuel which differs in every movie. So let's go BACK TO THE FUTURE.
